I have been a member of dA for a month now and it's not quite what I expected.  It's even better!  I thought I was just joining a site that would allow me to conveniently view artists' works without having to go to a gallery to do so.  I had no idea there was also literature.  I had no idea there were groups, or forums, or chatrooms when I first joined.  I didn't know you could actually use this site as a venue for marketing artwork either.  Pretty amazing. Oh, and get this -- I have a 'job' critiquing for one of the writing clubs.  It was suggested to me by the first friend I made here and on a lark I applied and was accepted.  Pretty cool.

Well I've put a few literature pieces here on dA.  My first few ones were just random six word 'stories' which in my opinion don't truly qualify as stories in the proper sense nor in the true spirit of the contest rules of the SWS group; they're more like six word 'thoughts'.  For a real six word story you should check out 'The Cat's Familiar's' by WillowPen, it's one of the better and more interesting ones I've come across so far.  I've been impressed with the diversity of art available for viewing on this site.  I've also been surprised at the quality -- both ways.  Some of the photography and computer-assisted/generated art is absolutely a

Today I joined DA.  I'm pleased to see the site has more features and more interactive content than on my few previous visits.  I was inspired to join by reading a poem by another member that I StumbledUpon one evening when I was just bored.  I hope to find more inspiration for my own endeavors by viewing the creative works of other members.  I'd also like constructive feedback regarding my own efforts and see this as an ideal forum for that.  I hope to see your work and would appreciate your comments regarding mine.  Thanks!   :)
